The Fertility Nurse Specialists

Provides investigation, support,  information and treatment to couples experiencing problems conceiving.

The nurse specialists are  available for support throughout the tests and treatment, providing the following services:-

· Forty-five minute initial consultation to discuss the couple’s situation.  Please allow two hours at the hospital. Advice is given and any investigations still needed can be organised.

· Follow-up consultations to discuss results/diagnosis and future plans.

· Pre-conception health advice.

· 24 hour answer phone to the nurses’ office.  The office can be extremely busy, please leave a message with your contact
  telephone number and we shall return your call as soon as possible.

· The latest information about fertility treatments and where these are available.

· Weight reduction programme.

· Pre-treatment talks and learning injection technique.

· Information about national support groups.

· Written information about all aspects of fertility freely available.

· The nurse specialists co-ordinate all the fertility treatments, performing ultrasound scans and adjusting medication regimes.
