FERTILITY CLINIC


We are a successful, friendly team dedicated to helping couples conceive with over 400 referrals per year.  There are three specialist infertility practitioners holding daily clinics.  Couples are cared for by one named clinician throughout investigation and management.  Services available:

In depth consultations and investigation of both partners to identify possible causes of sub fertility.

Investigations include:

  • Semen analysis, baseline hormones to assess ovarian reserve and identify any ovulation problems
  • Serial blood tests to assess ovulation
  • Screening for Rubella
  • Laparoscopy and dye and hysterosalpingogram to investigate the Fallopian tubes
  • Clomiphene treatment 
  • Metformin treatment
  • Specific information on timing sexual intercourse to the fertile time to the woman’s individual cycle
  • Clomiphene plus HCG treatment
  • Ovulation induction injection treatment
  • Artificial insemination, which can be carried out at home (AIH)
  • Laparoscopic diathermy to endometriosis 
  • Laparoscopic ovarian diathermy for polycystic ovaries
  • Surgery for endometriosis 
  • Advice about lifestyle changes to improve fertility for men and women
  • Health promotion advice specifically relating to fertility
  • Weight reduction programme
